Hotel Italian Riviera 1 is in Santa Margherita Ligure, panoramically situated between Rapallo and Portofino. Hotel Italian Riviera 1 was built in 1903 by Giacomo Costa, who entrusted its management to Lina Kuoni Stoppani, widow of the founder of the famous Swiss travel agency. It was one of the first Grand Hotels on the Riviera, rapidly becoming a must for the international “jet set” of the time.
The elegance of the Hotel’s white façade strikes the eye even from a considerable distance, while closer inspection reveals its sophisticated trompe l’oeils and floral decorations in the Leonardesque fresco style, a work that restored the Grand Hotel to its original turn of the century splendour.
In the Grand Hotel’s large park it’s easy to feel that Spring is eternal.
