Erected by the Cadolingi of Montecascioli, the Castle is documented in the very ancient manuscripts from the year 997. Surrounded by city walls, which in the past served as a final defense for its inhabitants, the Castle dominates a medieval village and ancient houses dot the slope of the hill. Its lands extend to below the Via Cassia and the Pesa River. The foundations of the Castle go back to the 9th century and the construction was completed in year 1000, while the first group of stone farmhouses dates back to the latter half of the 13th century.

The castle is the perfect place for your special event! The panoramic terrace is the ideal location for the aperitif with unparalleled sunsets on the Chianti hills. The reception goes on in the courtyards and loggia of the castle where it is possible to have dinner outside, and in the castle staterooms, perfect also for music and dancing. The chapel Santa Maria a Bibbione, situated in the village, is perfect for celebrating the ceremony.
WEDDING BANQUET
You can rent the castle in an exclusive use. You need to know that there is no kitchen within it, which is why we will give you a wide list of the best local catering so that you will pick the one who will take care of the wedding banquet. Music is allowed till midnight.
ROOMS
The castle can accommodate 56 guests (36 in bedrooms and 20 in sofa beds). All bedrooms have splendid view of the Chianti hills. They were restored respecting the original structures. Only antique handmade terra-cotta tiles were used, the interior and exterior stairways are made of pietra serena (a typical Tuscan stone), and there are open beamed ceilings. The apartments were decorated with family furniture and antique kilim carpets. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens are completely outfitted. Everything was done to satisfy best the demands and taste of each guests. Baby cots are available upon request. Pets are welcome
