DESCRIPTION
The Resort’s origins date back to 1400. The villa boasts a unique position on Fiesole hills only 5 km from Florence historical center. In these areas some prestigious artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Benedetto and Giuliano from Maiano, Boccaccio and many more worked. For centuries the hills between Fiesole and Florence, where the Resort is located, with its Hamlet and the houses that are spread in the countryside, have been a place where the first stone to build the city of Florence was dug.
Walking through the olive grove, you will easily reach the Villa, the main house that looks on to the entire estate. The Villa has been the set for numerous films, including: Tea with Mussolini by Franco Zeffirelli and A Room with a View by James Ivory. It has all the private residence features: magnificent rooms (Tapestries Room, Red Lounge, Old Dining Room, Carriage Room and Billiard Room) with original decors and furnishings, a large terrace overlooking Florence and an Italian style garden. The villa is now rented in exclusive for every event.
ACCOMODATIONS
Accommodations are offered in apartments located within the estate. Originally they were ancient rustic homesteads and former convent buildings. Recently renovated with particular attention to the architectural style, the apartments are authentic country dwellings in terms of style, peace and panoramic views.
During summer, guests can enjoy the lovely swimming pool, located in the gardens of Fattoria, overlooking a truly matchless view on the surrounding countryside. There is also a nice program of activities to choose from: the teaching farm, art and restoration class, The Villa and Olive Mill guided tours.
WEDDINGS
The Villa offers its beautiful gardens and antique lounges as ideal settings for exclusive events, from ceremonies and wedding receptions to business meetings and gala dinners.
Situated on the green hills surrounding Florence, this aristocratic house still possesses its early genuine charm. The original furniture belonging to the XVII -XVIII centuries, the magnificent lounges with their richly colored frescoes, the refined tapestries decorating the elegant ballroom, and the gorgeous terrace are just some of the unique features that will make your event truly unforgettable.
In the very heart of the Fattoria is located the 15th century cloister.
Next to it, you find Sala del Convitto, the ancient former convent refectory and Sala Olivaia, the ancient olive storage room where the olives were stored before the crushing.
Sala Olivaia, recently inaugurated, was renovated with particular attention to the original structure features such as wooden beam ceiling and terracotta paving. The amazing view on the olive tree grove completes the hall, making it an ideal location for exclusive events.
