Castle Tuscany 2 finds its origins in the XII century, when it becomes the country residence of the noble Florentine family Del Nero. The Del Nero family also owned other important historical buildings in Florence such as the Palazzo Torrigiani-Del Nero in Piazza de’Mozzi and the Palazzo Cambi-Del Nero in Via Tornabuoni further to the chapels of Santa Felicita in Florence and the chapel Vallicella in Rome. The Del Nero family coat of arms, representing a rearing greyhound, can still be seen today at Castle Tuscany 2. The frescoes throughout the building have been painted in various moments during the past centuries.
The private family chapel, dedicated to San Michele and San Filippo Neri, was built in the late 1700s and in the same period a local clock smith created and put into function the clock on the main tower.
The Italian garden at the entrance of the Castello was first created in the XIX century. Following the extinction of Del Nero family, the estate was taken over completely by the Torrigiani family. The nobleman Carlo Torrigiani put great attention to increasing the activities of the farm land of Castle Tuscany 2 together with his American wife, Anna Frey who was particularly affectionate with the Castle to the point that she requested her burial to be in the private chapel in 1917.
