9th century Castle of Bibbione is a beautiful farmhouse in Chianti, with pool and spa, near Florence.
DESCRIPTION
Surrounded by city walls, which in the past served as a final defence for its inhabitants, the Castle dominates a medieval village and ancient houses. Its lands extend to below the Via Cassia and the Pesa River, between Florence and Siena. Its construction was completed in year 1000. In the Renaissance age, the battlements were removed and the fortification was then transformed into a country residence. In 1511, Niccolò Machiavelli bought the Castle and the farmland using it as a hunting lodge. A particularity of the Castle is the secret underground passage which winds its way for hundreds of meters down to the river plain.

This tuscan castle is perfect for weddings. It offers a panoramic terrace ideal for weddings and aperitifs with unforgettable sunsets on the Chianti hills. For wedding reception it offers a charming courtyard and a open gallery where you can dine outside on summer evenings. The rooms of the castle are ideal for weddings in winter months. It’s also possible to celebrate weddings in the small Romanesque church of Santa Maria a Bibbione located in the village at the foot of the castle.
The ceremony and the reception can therefore be held in the same place, adding a touch of magic to your special day.

The Castello di Bibbione property, with its farmlands of Chianti Classico vineyards, IGT vineyards, Olive groves, Sunflowers, extends over 100 hectares (approx. 200 acres) which are cultivated with vineyards, olive groves, and some other crops.The farm is member of the co-operative Castelli del Grevepesa since 1965, to whom it sends the grapes which are transformed into wine.
